Day 10 of 365: Wins & Losses

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][custom_headline type=”center” level=”h2″ looks_like=”h2″ accent=”true”]Wins & Losses[/custom_headline][text_output]Every week has a certain level of wins and losses for me when it comes to my goals. Overall, I consider the week a win – but, unless things go really, really wrong I consider pretty much every week to be a win.

Workouts and smoke both had some major losses. I managed to get 2 of 5 workouts (and one high-activity day that I’ll count), and tomorrow I’ll probably end up being fairly physically active. Part of it is “getting back in to the swing”, and trying to find ways of pulling of workouts during the day. It’s an understatement to say my days are busy right now.

For smoking, well, it’s been sort of fail after fail. The longest I’ve managed to go during the week without smoking is 15 hours. The previous day I went 12 hours. So, I suppose there’s a pretty small improvement involved, but definitely not a win.

For my revenue goals, it looks like there’s two, possibly three more gigs coming in. Now, I’m in a pretty weird position: I can’t take more work at the moment, not directly. The three existing projects I have are taking my time, and two of them won’t be off my radar for some time (the app I’m working on should enter beta soon, and be off the radar soon.) I’m even a bit behind, as I still don’t have contracts for distribution and backing for the magazines done yet. So, I get to change the game a bit – I know someone who could make use of the work, so I’ll spend a little time bringing someone up to speed so I can pass the work on to them. It’s a win-win: they get some work (and extra training from someone in the field), and I continue to expand the customer base. I won’t pocket much money out of it, but it counts towards those revenue goals for the year.

Healthy eating was a pretty good set of wins. Out of three meals I think I always managed to have two of them as healthy, well portioned meals, and a couple days were three. Not a bad start.

Of course, tomorrow is the last day of the week, so my motion towards goals for the week isn’t quite done, but I’ve got a good idea how it will work: healthy breakfast, probably less healthy lunch, healthy supper. I’ll be helping at The Center of Wichita to try and help them get part of it ready to go (which benefits First Geek Congregation, too), so it’s going to be a very active day, but probably no workout. On Saturday night I’ll smoke too much, because it’s Coffee Clatch night (plus, until I’ve actually quit, I’ve decided not to “struggle” on the Sabbath. Once I’ve gone a full day, though, I don’t get to give up the struggle on Saturdays.)

Here’s hoping that next week has even bigger wins. :-)[/text_output][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][line][custom_headline type=”center” level=”h2″ looks_like=”h2″ accent=”true”]Today’s Stats[/custom_headline][text_output]
