For three days my brain was filled with a weird sort of chaos as it tried to come to terms with having changed chemically. Sure, I still have nicotine in my system – I’m using an eCig – but that doesn’t account for the rest of the package of stuff in a cigarette (a good portion of which they don’t really know much about yet, but, a number of them affect dopamine levels, etc. In other words, already addictive on their own.)
So, my brain rebooted this morning, and I had clarity again. Not bad. So, now I’m getting close to the 96 hour mark, and thinking of smoking happens infrequently. My lungs have been doing the “cleanout” thing, which can last up to three weeks if I’m unlucky. But, between the removal of CO in my bloodstream, and the slowly increasing oxygen levels, I’m feeling the effects. Cool.
But, this also marks the end of “that phase” of quitting: now I’m at the end of “counting the hours”, and begin the “counting the days” phase. Helped customers, Kat and I had a friend (Mark Arganbright) over for supper, talked about some video game development stuff for the Beard & Bean projects he’s working on, and all sorts of stuff. I didn’t get nearly as much programming done as I had planned, but that’s just how it goes some days 🙂
Tomorrow I’ll edit two lines of code, and finish a project. Then I’ll edit some CSS and HTML, and finish my Thursday task list for another project. Then, probably apply some sound effects and music to another game project, and look at releasing it (long story as to what and why – I’ll explain that one later 🙂
